Our Thoughts


It still amazes me that, after two and half decades as an Estate Agent, I can still be thrilled by a property. Walking around this beautiful cottage reminded me what a wonderful occupation I’m in and what a privilege it is to see such lovely homes [I have secretly bought an extra lottery ticket this week in the hope…].


A simple room by room description does not start to explain the charm and latent character of this cottage. Having just been around to create the floor plans I have been mentally living in the house and, compared to many cottages we see this one lives very well. Imagine having a room in which you can watch television whilst having another room in which you can read quietly or listen to music. All this can be happening whilst a full dinner party is going on in the dining room which was, of course, beautifully prepared in the “cook’s delight” of a kitchen. I was fascinated to find out what the first floor held in store; The stripped pine stairway turns 180° and arrives in a beautiful array of small landings. I turned sharp left and arrived at a lovely Guest Suite comprising a “morning sun” bedroom with the convenience of an interconnecting door to bedroom four [could be a dressing room for guests] and a delightful en-suite shower room. Retreating back down the landing and opposite the top of the stairs is bedroom one [again morning sun] and bedroom three which has an evening sun aspect. The remaining space of the first floor is taken up by the superb bathroom which not only boasts one of those gorgeous roll top ball and claw floor foot baths but has an his and her wash hand basin set … its great.


You might have sussed by now that I seriously like this house … I do … but remember I see hundred of houses each year and, for one to impress me as much as this one has … it has to be special … go and see it [if it’s still for sale that is].


Directions


Tytherington lies one mile [boundary to boundary] from the eastern outskirts of town. On reaching the village take the first turning on the right [in front of the pub] into Itchington Road; bear round left then right and drive until just under the railway bridge. Number 7 is a further 100 metres along on the left hand side.
