“…‘The Butts’ is a medieval term for either a field in which Archery was practiced or two acres of common land upon which fairs were held … which ever you decide this house is named for, it will confirm two things; that a] it was beautifully built a long time ago and b] the wealthy merchant and builder chose one of the finest plots in the country upon which to build.
